Teacher Info: Daniel is a product of the CCISD music program. He was a member of the TMEA All-State Mixed Chorus for 2 years (2005,2006) and a 4-Year All-Region Chorus member (2002-2005). He also placed in Greater Houston NATS as finalist throughout high school. Daniel graduated from Baylor University in 2010 with a Bachelors in Vocal Performance where he studied with Dr. Robert Best. Opera roles from Baylor Opera Theatre include: Elder Gleaton in Susannah, Spärlich in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Erice in l'Ormindo, and as the title role in Albert Herring. Scene credits: Tamino in Die Zauberflöte. During his studies at Baylor, Daniel was invited to be a Studio Artist with Opera North (Lebanon, New Hampshire) where he sang chorus in Bizet's Carmen and Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia. While studying with Dr. Best, Daniel also placed as a finalist at Texoma NATS in 2006, 2008, & 2009. Daniel studied piano with Dr. Vincent deVries while completing his bachelors as well as theory with modern theorist Dr. Christopher Bartlette. Daniel also studied voice with Dr. Stephen King at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
Daniel currently performs in Houston bands with styles ranging from funk, soul, jazz and r&b, to rock, alternative, and punk.
